Organic Ideas for beauty products

Our skin and hair absorb the chemicals that we add to them easily. Up to 60% of the chemicals in lotions, oils, creams and cleansing products that are applied to the skin can end up in the bloodstream. That is why you need to be careful not to build up chemical residues that the body cannot process. Buying organic reduces the chances of allergic reactions to those chemicals.

As with many 'organic' products it is legal for manufacturers to claim that they are using 'organic' and 'natural' ingredients when there are also many unnatural ingredients within the same product. That's why it is vital to check for the certifiers logo on the packaging. Our preference is always for a UK certifier and ideally the Soil Association. Some overseas certifiers have far lower standards regarding certification than the Soil Association, so be careful!
